1. Children's route Veenendaal
📍 Start: TOP Fort at the Buursteeg, Veenendaal

This fun children's bike route starts at Fort aan de Buursteeg , next to the Grebbelinie Visitor Center . Here you can enjoy fun activities with your children and learn more about the history of the Grebbelinie, one of the largest water defense lines in the Netherlands.
The route winds past the De Eekhoeve farm , where children can feed the animals and explore farm life. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to stop for ice cream in the center of Veenendaal. The tour concludes in a festive atmosphere at De Bijenmarkt pancake house , where young and old can enjoy a delicious pancake together.

2. Austerlitz Children's Route – Mountain Bike Adventure

For young adventurers who love a little adventure, the Austerlitz Children's Route is the perfect choice. This child-friendly mountain bike trail is located in the Austerlitz day recreation area, owned by Staatsbosbeheer (the Dutch Forestry Commission), and is ideal for introducing the family to mountain biking.
The route shares a section with the popular Austerlitz mountain bike trail, but thanks to an additional loop, it's a short, surprising loop that's fun and manageable for children. Along the way, kids can enjoy forests, open fields, and challenging bends—a playful way to exercise outdoors and burn off some energy.
✨ Tips: Wear sturdy shoes and bring a helmet for the kids. Afterward, you can enjoy a drink or snack at Eetcafé Ouwekamp , near the starting point.
3. Children's route Zeist – Forest, playground and treats
📍 Start: TOP Slot Zeist, Zeist
🚴 Distance: 15 km

Cycle through Zeist with the kids and discover a combination of urban fun and nature. The route starts at Slot Zeist and winds through the town center and the surrounding woods. Along the way, you'll pass the De Boswerf nature play forest, where children can have a blast in the trees, on the water features, and with the play equipment.
Another fun part of the route is the Heidestein sheepfold , where you can learn all about the work of the Utrecht Landscape and the history of the sheepfold. The route ends at Blik & Burgers , a large playground with a restaurant where young and old can enjoy a tasty snack or drink.
