How to choose the right size children's bike

For the best cycling experience, a suitable size is essential. The wheel size of a children's bike is determined by your child's height.
Use our handy guideline to find the right match:

Balance bikes: for children shorter than 85 cm (up to 3 years old)
12 inch children's bike: for a height of 85 - 100 cm (2 - 4 years old)
14 inch children's bike: for a height of 95 - 110 cm (3 - 5 years old)
16 inch children's bike: for a height of 100 - 115 cm (4 - 6 years old)
18 inch children's bike: for a height of 110 - 120 cm (6 - 7 years old)
20 inch children's bike: for a height of 115 - 125 cm (7 - 8 years old)
22 inch children's bike: for a height of 125 - 135 cm (8 - 9 years old)
24 inch bike: for a height of 130 - 145 cm (9 - 10 years old)

What is BikeFlip?

BikeFlip is the ultimate sustainable children's bike subscription where the bike grows with your child. Why buy a new one every time the old one gets too small? At BikeFlip, you can choose from a wide range of upcycled children's bikes, which we deliver to your home ready to ride. Is the bike too small or broken? Simply flip it over for a larger model, or we'll come and repair it for free at your home. Prefer to visit us? You're always welcome at one of our locations!

What happens after ordering?

We'll get started right away and deliver the bike to your home on the day and time slot of your choosing (within our delivery area)! Prefer to browse our extensive selection of circular bikes yourself? Feel free to schedule an appointment to visit our sheltered workshop at Demkaweg 25, Utrecht! Of course, you won't start paying until the bike is delivered.

What exactly does the BikeFlip subscription entail?

BikeFlip works like a flexible bike subscription specifically for children. You choose a bike that suits your child's height and age, and pay a fixed monthly fee. Children quickly outgrow their bikes, and with BikeFlip, you can easily exchange them for a larger model whenever needed.

Maintenance and repairs are also included: if something breaks, BikeFlip will repair or replace it at home or at school. This way, you always have a suitable and well-functioning bike, without having to buy a new one every time.

Are repairs also included in the subscription?

Absolutely! If something's broken on your bike, we're here for you. Use the repair form in your BikeFlip account, and we'll come by as soon as possible (within our delivery area) for a free repair. Do you live outside our delivery area? Then you can always come by for a free BikeFlip repair at our workshop in Utrecht (Demkaweg 25).

Flipping your bike: how does it work?

Has your child outgrown their current bike? We'll easily flip it for a larger model. You choose a different bike online, schedule a delivery, and we'll come and flip it. The old bike will be checked in our workshop and then put back online for a new adventure with another child.
