For this age group, 14-inch and 16-inch children's bikes are usually the right choice. With a BikeFlip subscription, you don't have to immediately purchase an expensive bike that will be too small after just a few months. You simply rent a safe, fully inspected children's bike for a fixed monthly fee. If your child outgrows the bike or it needs maintenance? Then we will simply exchange or repair the bike for free at your home.

What size children's bike is suitable for a 5-year-old?

While age 5 is a good indicator, every child grows at their own pace. That's why at BikeFlip, we primarily look at body length and clothing size to determine the most suitable inch size:

14 inch children's bike: Usually suitable for children with a height of 95 to 110 cm (often clothing size 98 to 110). This size is ideal if your child is still building confidence and wants to be able to firmly place both feet on the ground.

16 inch children's bike: Usually suitable for children with a height of 100 to 115 cm (often clothing size 104 to 110). This is the most common size for 5-year-olds who are already a bit taller and can pedal and steer smoothly.
