About BikeFlip

BikeFlip is a social and circular enterprise that helps children grow up with the right size bike, without parents having to buy a new one every time. With our bike subscription service, we offer convenience and fun for families, while reducing waste and creating social employment. We now operate in several Dutch cities and are working hard to build national recognition and impact. 

The Advisory Board to date

For the past three years, we've worked with an Advisory Board that meets quarterly. This board provided us, as founders, with a valuable reflection: critical questions, insightful feedback, experience sharing, and networking opportunities. Their role has been indispensable in our growth and development. After three enjoyable years, the current members are passing the baton, and we are looking for a new board to join us in the next phase. 

Role of the new Council

The Advisory Board exists to challenge us as founders, raise critical questions, and guide us through the steps from startup to scale-up and beyond. Members bring their own knowledge, experience, and network, and enjoy being involved in the development of a young company that makes a social and circular impact. It's a personal and sometimes delicate collaboration: we're looking for people who understand this and are eager to share their knowledge, while also receiving our enthusiasm in return. 

Who are we looking for?

We want to form a board of at least three members with a mix of backgrounds and experience. Specifically, we are looking for: 

• Someone with a financial background who keeps us focused on healthy growth and investment issues. 
• Someone who has experience in scaling up a (B2C) start-up to a scale-up , and knows what is involved in rapid growth and professionalization, from marketing to organization. 
• Someone with experience in the bicycle industry , who can contribute market knowledge, technical and practical insights. 

In addition, the following qualities suit a member of our Council: 

• Critical, but always constructive. 
• Enthusiastic about sustainability, circularity and social impact. 
• Enjoys transferring knowledge and experience. 
• Enjoys entrepreneurship and collaborating with young founders. 

What we expect 

• A meeting once a quarter (physical or online), where we look back together on progress and look ahead to new plans. 
• Willingness to answer the occasional phone call or question. 
• Membership is voluntary and unpaid . Before meetings, we eat together: a time to get to know each other better. 

Our ambition

In three years, BikeFlip will be a household name in Dutch schoolyards, we'll be in the black, and we'll be expanding internationally. Together with our new Advisory Board, we want to achieve this ambition and expand our impact.
