This is a shame, because these materials can often be reused very well. At BikeFlip, we believe in a circular economy where we combat waste. Donating your old bicycle: What happens to it?
As soon as we receive a bicycle, our team in the workshop gets to work on it. BikeFlip offers a safe and educational workplace to people who are distanced from the labor market. Under the guidance of experienced bicycle technicians, they learn the trade and carefully refurbish the bicycles. Usable parts are reused and frames are technically repaired or given a new powder coating where necessary. In this way, we significantly extend the lifespan of the materials.
After the bicycles have been thoroughly checked and approved, they enter our circular subscription service. This allows other families to use a safe, refurbished bicycle that grows with their child. In addition, we work together with social partners, such as Stichting Leergeld, to ensure that children from low-income families also have access to a reliable bicycle. In this way, we collectively contribute to reducing mobility poverty.

Collection or delivery: You can drop off the bicycle yourself at one of our locations in Utrecht, Amsterdam or Rotterdam. Do you live within our service area? Then in many cases, it is possible for us to collect the bicycle when we are in your neighborhood.
